No Fail Formula for Stylish Yet Easy Spring Outfits

I don’t know about you ladies, but for me, spring is a hectic event packed time of year and the weather changes from chilly to roasting at the drop of a hat (often within the same day!).

Because of this, I swear by a basic spring formula to get me through most any occasion:

  • A current print top that’s either spaghetti straps or short sleeves, preferably one that swings a bit in case you get stuck in one of the sweltering heat moments. The Target animal print I’m wearing is sold out but they’ve still got a few of this alternative print as well as this darling variation on the beige animal print.
  • Crop jeans in either denim or white which can be also be shorts, a skirt or full length jeans depending on your spring temps. I’m about to swap out the crop jeans for these shorts that I just got once the weather in Seattle sticks to warmer temps.

  • Cardigan or jacket that coordinates with the top or is a neutral that goes with everything. I’m a fan of capsule wardrobes as you know so the one I’m sporting is from my Fall/Winter capsule and I bridge it over into Spring. It’s Gap and is about 2 seasons old but this one from Nordstrom is a cute substitute. I flip flop the colors of this piece between grey, white jean, denim and an anchor color like red (as shown below) this time of year.
  • Last, but certainly not least, a key accessory or two. Don’t skimp or skip this step ladies because frankly it’s the key to looking pulled together! I’m loving the pair of statement earrings like the Stella & Dot pair shown above! I’ve gotten so much wear (and so many complements) that I’m going to get the same pair in red! They’re super light weight too which makes them all the better. And in warm weather I favor bracelets over necklaces and this silver/gold cuff has been my go to for the season. One other big tip for Spring/Summer is to opt for a fun color bag, like the one below, because it’s an easy way to elevate a spring look.

Finish the whole look off with a simple, heat-friendly look like the pulled back style I’m wearing here. It’s not perfectly coiffed but it’s quick and reasonably polished. Messy buns, ponytails and other simple up-do’s are my go to for Spring and Summer.

Be sure to head over and read the capsule wardrobe post if you missed it because that’s really the key to easy dressing for Spring (or any season)! And read the step-by-step how to that will set you up for success (and save you money!). The same top I’m wearing above goes with my white jean jacket, cream cardigan and jean jacket. And for the bottom, I’ve got a more dressy grey skirt, white jeans, jean skirt and about 3 other options that work with it.

Easy options, layering and comfort are the name of the game this time of year!
